Qualche dettaglio
Il tempo libero è sempre meno ma ho cominciato a rivestire le giunzioni e ho abbozzato le forme interne delle gallerie. Verranno rivestite con un foglio che riproduce mattoni.

Few details. Free time is less and less and less but I started to cover the joints and I sketched the forms of tunnel interiors. They'll be coated with a sheet reproducing bricks.

Portali lato ovest
Per il lato ovest della stazione, pensavo di realizzare un portale sfalsato ispirato a quello presente nella stazione di Monterosso, nelle Cinque Terre.
L'ho costruito in cartoncino con la tecnica che ho spiegato su TTM 34 (in edicola in questi giorni), è stato rivestito con dei fogli che imitano le pietre e ora aspetta le rifiniture: rivestimento angoli, sporcatura e dettagli vari.
Lo incollerò al piano appena mi sarò deciso a posare la massicciata. I pali della linea aerea e il segnale a vela quadra sono soltanto appoggiati, giusto per fare un po' di scena.

West side tunnel mouths . For the west side of the station I thought to create two single tunnel mouth inspired to the one in Monterosso, Cinque Terre Riviera.
I built them in cardboard with the technique that I explained on TTM 34 then was covered with sheets that imitate the stones and now expects the finishing: coating angles, weathering and detailings.
Then I'll paste it on the station level just whene I'm determined to lay down the ballast. The catenary poles and the signal were only leaned, just to do some "scenario".

Dynamis di Bachmann: DCC wireless
Qualche anno fa ho scoperto il favoloso mondo del digitale e da allora non l'ho più mollato. L'unico fastidio per me era dover gironzolare con un apparecchio con filo, specie se volevo fare qualche manovra lontano dalla "centrale". Così, dopo anni di onorato servizio, ho mandato in pensione la Compac Lenz e ho comprato la Dynamis di Bachmann a Liverpool.
Oggetto stupendo e display finalmente enorme. Unici due difetti: non legge le CV (ci vuole il modello Pro, non ancora uscito) e wireless a infrarossi, come il telecomando della Tv. Quindi bisogna puntarlo verso la centralina.
Non sto a elencare tutte le specifiche, peraltro molto buone. Rimando semplicemente al sito ufficiale Dynamis.
PS: in Inghilterra si trova anche a 90 sterline (110 euro circa).

Dynamis by Bachmann: wireless DCC. A few years ago I discovered the fabulous world of DCC and since then I cannot stay without. The only annoyance for me was having to stroll with an apparatus with wire, especially if I wanted to make some shunting away from the "central panel". Thus, after years of honorable service, I switched off the Compac Lenz and I bought the Dynamis by Bachmann in a Liverpool model shop.
Wonderful object and finally enormous display. Just two notes: does not read the CVs (it takes the Pro model, not yet released) and wireless infrared, like the TV remote control. So we need to point it toward the receiver.
I am not to list all the specifications (very good to me): I simply refer to the official website Dynamis.

Ponte riciclato
Sono riuscito a salvare il ponte romano usato nell'altro plastico. Ho dovuto fare una piccola modifica di tracciato ma alla fine l'intervento è riuscito.

Recycled bridge. I managed to save the Roman bridge used in the other layout. I had to make a small change to the route but in the end the installation has been successful.

Tratto costiero ligure tipo Cervo (Imperia)
Sul plastico in costruzione cercherò di riprodurre il tratto costiero della ferrovia nei pressi di Cervo San Bartolomeo, in Liguria. Queste foto in realtà risalgono a qualche settimana fa e mostrano la sopraelevazione della rotaia esterna e il gioco di curve/controcurve tipico di quel tratto.
Per sopraelevare la rotaia esterna ho usato una o più striscie di cratoncino messe sotto l'estremità del binario, a seconda del bisogno e senza esagerare.
La seconda foto mostra il risultato meglio delle altre.

Cervo coastal stretch. A bit of my layout will be dedicated to the coastal stretch of the railway close to Cervo-San-Bartolomeo, Liguria, Italy. These photos, actually dated back a few weeks ago, show the raising of external rail and the game of the bends typical of that stretch.
For elevate the outer rail, I used one or more strips of cardboard placed under the side of the track, depending on need and without exaggeration.
The second photo shows the best result.

Controrotaie nello scalo
Ho finito la posa delle controrotaie nel piccolo scalo. Il processo è piuttosto semplice ma un po' lungo: ho usato un cutter per eliminare l'imitazione dei bulloni che tengono ferme le rotaie (quelle rivolte verso l'interno del binario), poi ho incollato un pezzo di rotaia tenendolo ben contro la rotaia "madre".
Una volta asciugata la colla, ho fatto qualche prova con dei rotabili e ho dato una piccola limatina nei punti in cui gli assi tendevano a incastrasi.

Check rials in the goods yard. I finished to lie down the check rails in the small goods yard. The process is pretty simple but a bit long: I used a cutter to remove the bolts that hold the rails in position (those "inlane" of the track), then I glued a piece of rail holding well against the rail "mother". Once the glue dry, I did a few test with some rolling stock and I gave a small rasp wherever axes tended to embed.

Scambi cablati
In realtà gli scambi erano pronti e funzionanti già da qualche mese, ma ero talmente occupato da non riuscire ad aggiornare il sito e mettere qualche foto dei progressi del plastico.
Da ciascun motore escono tre fili in più del solito, dal momento che verranno collegati a dei led, per avere la posizione degli aghi sul quadro sinottico.
La fatica più grande è stata cablare il dooppio scambio inglese, ma una volta capito il metodo è stata una passeggiata.

Turnouts wired. Actually turnouts were ready and working since few months already, but I was so busy not to be able to update beetrains and put some pictures of the progress of the layout.
As you can see, from each engine, three wires are leaving more than usual because they will be connected to LEDs, to have the turnout position on the control panel.
The biggest difficulty was the wiring of the double slip, but once you understand the method, it was an easy walk.

Vfcc a go-go
Poco tempo da dedicare agli aggiornamenti di beetrains, ma le mani non stanno ferme. Ho montato 6 carri Vfcc (TTM Kit) e intanto proseguono anche i lavori al plastico. Ora l'impianto elettrico è finito del tutto.

Type Vfcc a go-go. Even less time to dedicate to update beetrains, as usual, but my hands are still involved in other projects. I've built-up few wagons type Vfcc (TTm Kit) and the works on the layout still goes on. Nowadays the electrical system is totally finished.

Sono riuscito a terminare i collegamenti elettrici su gran parte del plastico. Mancano ancora i cablaggi per il 60% degli scambi e di tutto lo scalo merci. L'altra sera ho fatto i primi collaudi e ho fatto una serie di filmatini che man mano aggiornerò QUI .

Beetrains goes live!. Finally I completed the electrical connections on most of the layout. The cabling for the 60% of points and all the goods yard is still missing.
Last evening I did the first tests and I did a series of movies that I'll gradually update HERE.

Circuito chiuso
Ho finito il taglio binari, così il circuito è ora chiuso. Mancano solo i binari morti dello scalo. Adesso è tutto pronto per l'impianto elettrco, seguito dall'incollatura del tutto alla base in sughero, ovviamente dopo aver sistemato tutti i dettagli (rotaie esterne sopraelevate, correzione altezze e scambi con massicciata e motori già montati.

CCTracks. Not in the electrical meaning of course. The track has been colsed and now waits for the electric installation. Following, the track will be glued to the cork with all the arrangements needed (external rail raised, correction of heights, points ballast-ready).

La struttura è terminata
Sto già posando il sughero e conto di finire nel giro di una settimana. Non male se consideriamo che ci sono anche state di mezzo le ferie...

Even the baseboard is done. I'm now laying down the flatbed (cork strips) which I aim to finish in a week. Not bad at all, considering the holydays in between...
